TIRUMALA SRAVANA MASAM NEWS & A SHAKTHI MANTRAAS BOOK - FREE OF COST


These are the verses from the Vedas, meaning Annadanam is supreme and incomparable to any charity. Hence giving food to the devotees is more than attaining heaven.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) has taken up this noble task of serving the hungry providing free food in the name of "Annadanam" since several decades. With its prime motto-"Manava Sevaye Madhava Seva", the TTD is marching ahead in Nitya Annadanam scheme from the past 25 years.
TTD began the free food service to the pilgrims on 6th April 1985 with a feeding capacity of just 2000 pilgrims. But today as many as 35-45thousand devotees are enjoying free meals every day and rever it as 'Lord Venkateswara's prasadam' in the massive Annadanam complex at Tirumala which is open for 12 hours a day .
The President of India H.E.Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil inaugurated the massive new Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annadanam Complex at Tirumala on Thursday.
Earlier, she was received by AP Governor H.E.Sri ESL Narasimhan and AP CM Sri N.Kiran Kumar Reddy and other TTD officials. The President Smt.Pratibha Patil inaugurated the plaque at the entrance of the new annadanam complex amidst the chant of vedic hymns by vedic pundits. Later she visited rothi making machine and then offered prayers to Vakulamata statue installed inside the annadanam kitchen. At this juncture TTD Specified Authority chairman Sri J.Satyanarayana explained to her about Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba who pioneered the cause of Annadanam in Tirumala to devotees. Later she greeted the donors for their largessee.




The TTD executive officer Sri LV Subramanyam addressing the pilgrims during his maiden monthly "Dial Your EO" Programme held at Annamaiah Bhavan on Friday said that the temple administration of TTD is committed towards offering best of its services to pilgrims and always invite the suggestions from the pilgrims across the country to streamline its administrative set up.
Welcoming the suggestion made by a caller from Kalyan Ramesh from Hyderabad, the EO said, TTD will take a look into his suggestion of implementing dress code and application of Tilak on their foreheads to the TTD Free bus drivers and private jeep drivers in Tirumala to enhance devotion among them.
Answering another caller Siva from Tirupati, the TTD EO said, it is the responsibility of TTD to take care of hygienic environment in Tirumala where as the Tirupati corporation is meant to take care of the hygiene in Tirupati area.
Meanwhile callers Bhaskaran from Chennai, Senthil from Erode, Umashanker from Hyderabad suggested to streamline the queue line inside sanctum sanctorum by running single queue lines and avoid congestion from Vendi Vakili area to Bangaru Vakili. Answering their queries, EO said, TTD has always been trying to find out ways and means to avoid congestion in that area.
Replying the caller Abhigyan from Madanapalle, the EO said, TTD will definitely beef up the security near Alipiri and Srivari Mettu foot path routes.
Reacting positively to callers Lokesh from Tirupati, Vasu from Jangareddygudem, Ramayana Sharma of Bhadrachalam and Seshapani of Kurnool the EO said TTD will definitely strengthen its Dasa Sahitya project and also develop the system of chanting govinda namas by pilgrims in queue lines.
Joint EO Tirumala, Sri KS Srinivasa Raju, CVSO Sri MK Singh, ACVSO Sri Siva Kumar Reddy, CE Sri Chandra Sekhara Reddy, Special grade deputy EO Reception wing Sri Lakshmikantham and others were also present.

The six-day Chaturveda havanam organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams completed on a religious note with Purnahuti in Tirumala on Monday.



The AP Governor H.E.Sri ESL Narasimhan offered special prayers to the two sacred water bodies, Papavinasanam and Aakasa Ganga Teerthams in Tirumala on Thursday.
